About the role
The position is a 2nd Shift Salaried Position with typical work hours of 2:00pm-10:30pm. The department is Maintenance, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, located at Decatur, AR – Manufacturing Plant.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise employees in Maintenance.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interview and train employees.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
- Appraise performance.
- Reward and discipline employees.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Ensure employee safety and food safety.
- Coach employees on safe work practices.
- Facilitate team meetings.
- Oversee maintenance schedules.
- Coach and develop team members.
- Facilitate shift communication.
- Train staff on maintenance practices.
- Schedule maintenance work orders.
- Coordinate part usage and oversee parts check-out.
- Act as on-shift representative for emergency response coordination.
- Respond to employee issues.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement.
- Manage safety by ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Complete safety system documentation and report deviations.
- Participate in mandatory safety trainings.
- Proactively manage safety.
- Report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries.
- Manage quality and food safety.
- Complete quality and food safety system documentation.
- Report deviations and participate in mandatory training programs.
- Preserve the integrity of the BRC system.
- Take actions to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies.
- Report failures and take necessary actions to maintain the BRC system.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in a Maintenance/Team Lead Role.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience managing employee performance, conducting reviews, coaching, and administering disciplinary action.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage at least 10 employees.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups.
- Experience with extruders, packaging systems, and conveying equipment.
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
- Experience operating production machines.
