About the Role

Responsible for coordinating the maintenance function plant-wide, on a daily basis, within a skilled trade environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the health and safety of all team members.
  • Provide training, leadership, and direction to all team members on respective shifts.
  • Complete timely reviews for all team members.
  • Administer the computerized time and attendance system.
  • Promote proper work ethic and enforce the Company’s policies, procedures, and practices as outlined in the handbook.
  • Maintain an efficient inventory of spare parts for assigned equipment.
  • Direct the ordering of materials, tools, and spare parts.
  • Administer the preventive maintenance program.
  • Prioritize work schedules; plan, organize, and assign tasks, and evaluate completed work.
  • Recommend process improvements and other enhancements to increase operating efficiency.
  • Coordinate maintenance functions with other shifts and departments.

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and instruct employees.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize a PC and related software applications including Word, Excel, AS-400, etc.
  • Must be able to work in and encourage a team environment and facilitate change when necessary.
  • Ability to effectively organize multiple tasks.
  • Specific knowledge of green sand foundry practices and principles.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles of industrial-related equipment.

Working Conditions

The Maintenance Supervisor will work in both the office and on the production floor, adhering to plant conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and on their feet 50% on the production floor.
  • Must be able to move about inside the office and in the plant.
  • This position will operate a computer and other machinery in the plant.
  • Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and other individuals in person and by telephone.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman or equivalent experience in the maintenance field preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of foundry experience or education specifically related to industrial manufacturing maintenance field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising and/or directing employees preferred.
