About the Role
Responsible for coordinating the maintenance function plant-wide, on a daily basis, within a skilled trade environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the health and safety of all team members.
- Provide training, leadership, and direction to all team members on respective shifts.
- Complete timely reviews for all team members.
- Administer the computerized time and attendance system.
- Promote proper work ethic and enforce the Company’s policies, procedures, and practices as outlined in the handbook.
- Maintain an efficient inventory of spare parts for assigned equipment.
- Direct the ordering of materials, tools, and spare parts.
- Administer the preventive maintenance program.
- Prioritize work schedules; plan, organize, and assign tasks, and evaluate completed work.
- Recommend process improvements and other enhancements to increase operating efficiency.
- Coordinate maintenance functions with other shifts and departments.
Requirements
- Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise and instruct employees.
- Knowledge and ability to utilize a PC and related software applications including Word, Excel, AS-400, etc.
- Must be able to work in and encourage a team environment and facilitate change when necessary.
- Ability to effectively organize multiple tasks.
- Specific knowledge of green sand foundry practices and principles.
- Knowledge and ability to utilize a computerized maintenance management system.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles of industrial-related equipment.
Working Conditions
The Maintenance Supervisor will work in both the office and on the production floor, adhering to plant conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and on their feet 50% on the production floor.
- Must be able to move about inside the office and in the plant.
- This position will operate a computer and other machinery in the plant.
- Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and other individuals in person and by telephone.
Qualifications
- Journeyman or equivalent experience in the maintenance field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of foundry experience or education specifically related to industrial manufacturing maintenance field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising and/or directing employees preferred.
