Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and leadership to all maintenance personnel on shift.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of all mechanical equipment in the facility through the administration of a preventive maintenance program.
- Monitor the production process and respond to mechanical breakdowns to direct and guide mechanic response and efficiency.
- Ensure equipment is in working order and working conditions are always safe.
- Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up.
- Manage overall maintenance work quality and completion to ensure all standards and specifications are met.
- Assist employees with troubleshooting problems and coaching them through making the correct adjustments.
- Staff, train, evaluate, and develop team members.
- Champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Poultry Maintenance Operations or transferable skill sets from food manufacturing process in a similar industry.
- Ability to work with computers, Office programs, as well as payroll, attendance, and performance tracking software.
- 2+ years of experience managing hourly associates at the frontline level, preferably in poultry processing.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable fields, like Pneumatics, Plumbing, Electricity, Hydraulics, and general maintenance of industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of PLCs & Electronics.
- Verifiable experience with the Stork Nu-Tec Nuova Eviscerating Equipment, especially the PNT and Rehanger.
- Ability to troubleshoot with an electrical meter and read electrical line diagrams.
- Experience with Ishida Scales, Food Mate Ultimate, and Pac-mac Baggers (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance (preferred).
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a food-manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Experience in heavy industrial equipment repair.
- Mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic competency.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
- High energy level and team player.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced plant environment.
- Ability to stand, sit, squat, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stretch, walk, reach, twist, bend, grasp, use hands and fingers, handle objects or controls, talk, and hear.
- Agility to negotiate around moving machinery and people.
- Physical capabilities required in given department/assigned areas.
