Maintenance Superintendent - Montclair NJ

About the role

Live on-site Maintenance Superintendent responsible for the repairs, upkeep, and maintenance of an apartment community. The position includes an apartment as part of compensation and requires a working knowledge of electric, plumbing, drywall, flooring, appliances, windows, and locks.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance requests within the apartment community
• Perform tasks including lifting appliances, tile work, drywall work, appliance repair and installation, and HVAC repairs
• Snow removal
• Work together with contractors and all employees
• Handle carpentry, plumbing, light electrical, painting, refurbishing, cleaning, waste removal, heat and air-conditioning repair, masonry, grounds keeping, landscaping, and sewer maintenance
• Carry out preventative maintenance program under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor
• Be available for emergency repairs and after-hour "on call" duty as required
• Drive all company vehicles (e.g., golf carts, quads, and trucks) with a valid driver's license
• Use all maintenance tools safely and effectively

Requirements

• Working knowledge of electric, plumbing, drywall, flooring, appliances, windows, and locks
• Valid driver’s license
• Capable of performing all maintenance duties safely
