Responsibilities
- Supervise and support second shift maintenance supervisors and maintenance technicians, ensuring effective team performance.
- Implement and train new supervisors and hourly employees on maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on employee relations and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Monitor and enforce employee safety and ergonomic practices in compliance with company standards.
- Manage and delegate preventative maintenance programs, ensuring all work orders are completed on schedule.
- Schedule and verify completion of preoperational testing and inspection of equipment prior to production start.
- Inspect and evaluate the operating condition of all equipment in assigned areas, maintaining written schedules and reports for evaluations and repairs.
- Conduct weekly maintenance progress and safety meetings with direct reports, providing written documentation of discussions and action items.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to its full capability for tracking and reporting maintenance activities.
- Perform hands-on maintenance tasks as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of maintenance management experience.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience, with experience managing supervisors preferred.
- Experience working with USDA regulations.
- Familiarity with SQF and HACCP standards.
- Experience in the meat industry (poultry, beef, or pork) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
- Ability to perform hands-on maintenance work as needed.
