Maintenance Director

About the role

The Maintenance Director at MBK Senior Living is responsible for maintaining a safe and inviting environment for residents, team members, and guests. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry staff, ensuring all aspects of the physical plant are well-maintained and compliant with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-call point of contact for after-hour emergencies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive environmental, maintenance, and safety strategies.
• Manage the department budget, oversee operations, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate resident maintenance requests and manage outside vendors.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in and assist in marketing the community.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment, conduct fire drills, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist maintenance team members and perform tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of college education or trade school training in environmental services, maintenance, or related fields, preferred.
• Five (5) years of hands-on, prior-related work experience in environmental services, maintenance, or facilities management in a healthcare, residential, or similar community setting.
• Three (3) years of prior supervisory or lead experience in the building industry, including electrical, plumbing, and structural matters.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental codes, workplace safety practices, and emergency response.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities, including familiarity with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related trades.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak, write, and read English effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate various equipment and tools.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or over.
• Valid state issued driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Completed background clearance, health screening, and provided negative TB test results.

Pay

The Maintenance Director earns a competitive salary ranging from $38.00 to $40.00 per hour.

Schedule

The Maintenance Director works Tuesday through Saturday.
