Maintenance Specialist/Maintenance Trainee - Weekend Crew - Parks

About the role

This is a TEMPORARY - Part-Time Position - 1500 hours, PERS eligible.

Key Responsibilities

• Litter abatement;
• emptying trashcans and replacing trash liners;
• Delivering and restocking of supplies from warehouse;
• Reporting and repairing minor defects in the parks;
• Cleaning, stocking and ensuring restroom quality;
• Maintenance of minor landscaping, weed abatement and debris removal.

The Ideal Candidate

For this position, the ideal candidate will be able to start work at 3am on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. They should be able to work cooperatively with others and contribute to a successful team effort. They must operate tools designed for week and litter abatement, wear personal protective equipment in a manner consistent with safety procedures, deliver excellent customer service with a positive attitude, read, write, and understand English to follow safety precautions and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent;
• Experience performing routine construction, landscape and/or maintenance work, including manual labor experience involving the use of hand tools and portable power tools is desirable;
• A valid Class "C" California driver's license at the time of application;
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime when required.

Salary

$19.70 - $26.41 per hour

Schedule

Part-time, 1500 hours per year

All appointments are subject to the successful completion of background investigation including LIVESCAN fingerprinting, and will be required to submit verification of the legal right to work in the United States. Qualification by a medical examination will be required at the time of appointment. After appointment, classified employees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period to be eligible for regular status.
