Maintenance Specialist Electronics Journey 2/Lead (02-3041)
About the role
This position is open to Alaska residents only and requires meeting Alaska residency requirements. The position is not subject to the hiring freeze.
Responsibilities
- Hiking through the Alaska wilderness
- Visiting various locations throughout the state
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing public safety radio communications equipment
- Climbing towers
- Servicing generators
- Programming radios
- Performing some landscaping tasks
Requirements
The role requires frequent travel, including weekend travel, and the ability to fly in small aircraft, including helicopters. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) background check.
Qualifications
Must be able to work confidently at heights of up to 300 feet and be capable of climbing towers. Requires passing the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), which includes a background investigation requiring fingerprinting.
Skills
Self-motivated, able to follow instructions, and enthusiastic about learning. Knowledge of public safety radio communications equipment installation, maintenance, and repair is preferred.
