Maintenance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Performs expert-level break-fix and preventive maintenance, as well as design improvements for mechanical, electrical, and complex systems based on job specialty.
• Provides troubleshooting and technical support for equipment and production lines.
• Maintains in-depth technical knowledge of multiple systems as required by job specialty.
• Programs, troubleshoots, and analyzes complex control systems to resolve software, hardware, and configuration issues.
• Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, vibration analysis) and interprets results for equipment condition assessment and proactive maintenance.
• Leads, drives, and participates in Continuous Improvement (CI) activities using CI tools and methodology to achieve process improvements, results, and cost savings.
• Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items; suggests alternative solutions to improve reliability.
• Independently performs maintenance according to industry standards.
• Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards.
• May set up and operate machining operations (e.g., lathe, drill press, grinder, welding) to fabricate or repair parts.
• Studies and investigates technical methods, tools, and innovations to improve maintenance practices; updates documentation accordingly.
• Prepares input for cost analysis related to new equipment, repair/rebuild proposals, cost savings, and innovations.
• Updates records, reviews CMMS history, and analyzes data.
• Provides technical content for sales quotations and performs Time & Materials (T&M) duties as required.
• Trains and coaches less experienced technicians; assumes project manager responsibilities as assigned.
• Completes and conducts on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development.
• Follows all safety policies, rules, regulations, and technical instructions; maintains situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Associate degree with a technical focus and 7 years of related industry experience, or 10 years of industry-specific experience.
• Proficiency in predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, laser interferometry, precision alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; ability to analyze problems, synthesize solutions, and perform repairs.
• Ability to use hand tools and specialized tools as required.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Six Sigma experience is desired.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance (e.g., ladders, lifts), stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Regularly uses close vision and color vision.
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
• Work is typically performed in a loud factory environment with exposure to hazardous materials, greasy or slippery floors, and other industrial conditions.

Pay

Pay Range: $27.37 – $35.01 USD per hour.
