Maintenance Shop Technician A
About the role
The role involves performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis components, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engines, heating and air conditioning systems, and suspension, drive train, and steering systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art equipment and support drivers as they run their routes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain advanced knowledge and strong skill proficiency in various vehicle components and systems.
- Diagnose and repair complex issues on-site and on the road.
- Perform line maintenance, welding, and fabrication tasks.
- Use electronic tools to identify and resolve electrical concerns.
- Complete applicable Company training programs.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
Qualifications
- Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
- 5-7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
- Strong background in heavy truck, or automotive systems such as suspensions & steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions.
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
- LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $27.15 to $37.35* which reflects the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
