Maintenance Scheduler/Planner Instrumentation and Electrical

Responsible for oversight and effective execution of work control processes involved in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, as well as other instrumentation and electrical systems in the wastewater field. Plans long-range SCADA, instrumentation, and electrical projects; schedules and inspects work performed by SCADA technicians and electricians; provides technical assistance to engineers; and diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment problems. Maintains accurate records, prepares written reports on project status, and assists with inspection and management of contract work related to SCADA, instrumentation, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute work control processes for SCADA, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Plan long-range projects for SCADA, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Schedule and inspect work performed by SCADA technicians and electricians.
• Provide technical assistance to PVSC engineers regarding SCADA, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare concise written reports on project status.
• Assist PVSC engineers with inspection and management of contract work related to SCADA, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings using knowledge of drafting conventions and CAD practices.

Requirements

• Knowledge of drafting conventions (projections, symbols, layout, lettering) and CAD practices to read and interpret drawings.
• Knowledge of construction, HVAC, pumping, process machinery, operation, and maintenance activities in a wastewater treatment plant.
• Ability to organize technical engineering work, develop effective work methods, and analyze engineering problems.
• Theoretical knowledge and skills to oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and repair of industrial instrumentation and SCADA system software.
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and listen effectively.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as an Engineering Technician/CAD Operator.
• Must qualify for entry into confined spaces while wearing proper PPE, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), in compliance with PVSC's Facial Hair Grooming Policy.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in an engineering-related field (preferred).
• Certificate in computer-aided design using AutoCAD (preferred).

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb (including ladders), kneel, lift up to 25 lbs., carry, reach, push, pull, and use minor tools.
• Hearing and visual acuity.
• Keyboard use.

Working Conditions

Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system, both indoors and outdoors.

Pay

Expected base pay range for this position is $85,921 to $154,438 annually. The specific salary offered may be influenced by the candidate’s experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.
