Maintenance Scheduler / Planner
About the role
The Maintenance Planner - Scheduler owns and streamlines all maintenance planning and scheduling activities within their manufacturing area. They prioritize non-emergency / non-urgent work, level load preventative and predictive maintenance activities throughout the year to ensure appropriate manpower.
Responsibilities
- Create the appropriate work details for repetitive preventive and predictive work to the standard work templates.
- Develop and maintain PM/PdM/overhaul/replacement strategy for every asset that complies with operations schedule strategy.
- Schedule daily/weekly work for internal maintenance staff for all jobs (preventative, predictive, corrective, rebuilds, etc.) except emergency calls.
- Plan corrective maintenance work, converting ad hoc and PM follow-up work notifications into fully planned work orders.
- Schedule outage work, including support from operators for the outage, and communicate the outage plan, identifying critical path jobs and daily outage update strategies.
- Work jointly with project leaders for installations/modifications to equipment, providing input on the project schedule and taking over responsibility for the schedule.
Requirements
- 5 years as a maintenance mechanic or electrical technician or 2 years as a maintenance supervisor.
- Preferred: 5+ years as a technician or 3+ years as a supervisor.
Qualifications
You will have the opportunity to plan preventive / predictive work, schedule daily/weekly work, plan corrective maintenance work, and schedule outage work. Ideal turnaround for corrective maintenance work is 3-5 business days. Experience in an industrial manufacturing or military environment is preferred.
Skills
Strong organizational and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, proficiency in creating and managing work procedures, and experience with preventive and predictive maintenance.
