About the role

Join Oshkosh AeroTech as a Facilities Maintenance Technician II, responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on airport facility systems and controls. You will manage reactive, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks, respond swiftly to maintenance requests, and ensure detailed documentation within the CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on facility systems and controls.
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment conditions in the CMMS.
  • Execute reactive, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including emergency response.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Promptly communicate critical equipment conditions, operational impacts, and maintenance updates to the Site Manager.
  • Interpret manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, and work orders to perform required service tasks.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment failures to minimize operational downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor controls, sensors, switches, relays, contactors, VFDs, and other mechanical and electrical components.
  • Assist with identifying root causes of recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to Facilities Maintenance Technician I employees as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and collaborate effectively within a diverse team.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • 3+ years’ experience in equipment and maintenance operations.
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Availability to work day or night shift including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Experience in airport operations or facility maintenance (preferred).
  • Plumbing/electrical background with 480V, 3-phase motors (preferred).
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques (preferred).
  • Basic proficiency with computers and common software applications (preferred).

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and in confined areas of baggage conveyor systems.
  • Specific vision abilities include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Good hand/eye coordination is required.

Work Environment

  • Work environment similar to airport operations with vehicular traffic.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Work on an airport ramp around aircraft and heavy equipment.
