Maintenance & Repair Leader - Irrigation

About the Role

This position leads, supervises, and coordinates the work of a landscaping/irrigation crew within Metro’s Parks and Recreation Department. The department oversees nearly 16,000 acres of open space, including 184 parks and 107 miles of greenway, offering a variety of programs and facilities for the community.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the work of a landscaping/irrigation crew.
• Install irrigation systems in parks landscape areas with limited supervision.
• Troubleshoot irrigation problems and address accordingly.
• Repair various irrigation systems throughout the parks department.
• Operate and maintain all equipment used in irrigation installation and repair.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of verifiable experience in landscape and/or irrigation.
• Valid driver license.
• Residency in the State of Tennessee or willingness to become a resident within six (6) months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment related to landscape and irrigation.
• Supervisory experience.
