About the role
The Gatekeeper at Georgia-Pacific's Cutlery facility in Leominster, MA, provides strategic and tactical leadership in areas such as asset reliability, cost optimization, quality capability, MRO, waste, productivity, and strategic capital planning/execution.
Responsibilities
- Primary interface between Operations and Maintenance.
- Connects Operations and Maintenance to a common Vision.
- Manages work order backlog and prioritizes work by area and plant-wide to support business needs.
- Prioritizes Maintenance / Contractor Work Based on Operational Needs and Resources Availability / Capabilities.
- Maintains the maintenance expense (ME) budget at or below budget.
- Develops annual as well as multi-year forecasts that level maintenance expenses.
- Maintains standards for work request (WR) quality.
- Safeguards EHS, compliance, and preventive maintenance work orders as priorities.
- Manages maintenance expenditures to minimize unplanned events.
- Collaborates on maintenance support of scheduled shutdown planning and execution.
- Prioritizes funding of safety initiatives based on risk mitigation.
- Supports the execution of the GP Reliability Mental Models.
- Maintains assets in like-for-like conditions to maximize results.
- Coaches initiators on the quality of WR, rejection reasons, and the value of work submitted.
- Ledgers Maintenance support of strategic capital planning/execution.
- Leads the development and optimization of production and maintenance plans.
- Displays business acumen and applies economic thinking in decision-making.
- Works well with all levels within the organization, from maintenance and production hourly technicians to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Experience in financial budgetary management and best business practices.
- Experience in maintenance management, operations, and reliability within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with maintenance management software (preferably SAP).
Qualifications
- Experience in leadership or supervisory role in operations, mechanical, or electrical maintenance.
- Experience operating and maintaining a budget in a business or continuous manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with SAP, CMMS, or similar ERP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Business Finance.
- Mechanical or electrical reliability experience.

Benefits
This role is eligible for a base salary of $80,000 - $90,000 per year, with the possibility of variable pay in the form of a monetary bonus or other incentives.
