About the role
The Maintenance Project Engineer manages maintenance activities and supports the fleet's maintenance needs. Key responsibilities include overseeing maintenance projects, coordinating with contractors, preparing project scopes, and managing contractor work.
Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned projects and provide oversight
- Coordinate work with outside contractors and engineers
- Develop work scopes, request proposals, and prepare purchase orders
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and purchase documents
- Review and handle drawings and submittals
- Support Engineering and Maintenance Departments in executing major and minor capital improvement projects
- Develop 5-year maintenance plans and budgets
- Anticipate and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Assist with CMMS program updates and training activities
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Five years of experience in the power generation industry with a minimum of three years of project management experience; experience in an incineration plant environment is preferred
- Knowledge of steam turbine-generator operations, components, and maintenance practices
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and familiarity with CMMS programs
- Maintain all necessary licenses as required by local, state, federal, environmental, and health/safety regulatory agencies
Qualifications
- Knowledge of CMMS programs
- Ability to read and understand lockout/tagout, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally
- Ability to operate various safety equipment and tools
