Maintenance Project Engineer
About the role
The Maintenance Project Engineer manages maintenance activities and supports the fleet's maintenance needs. Key responsibilities include overseeing projects, coordinating with contractors, preparing specifications, managing contractors, and supporting the CMMS program.
Responsibilities
- Supervise assigned projects and provide oversight
- Coordinate work with outside contractors and engineers
- Develop work scopes, request proposals, and handle purchase orders
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and purchase documents
- Review and handle drawings and submittals
- Support Engineering and Maintenance Departments in executing capital improvement projects
- Develop 5-year maintenance plans and budgets
- Anticipate and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Update CMMS program and support training activities
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Five years of experience in the power generation industry with at least three years of project management experience; experience in an incineration plant environment is preferred
- Knowledge of steam turbine-generator operations, components, and maintenance practices
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite and familiarity with CMMS programs
- Maintain all necessary licenses as required by local, state, federal, environmental, and health/safety regulatory agencies
