Maintenance Position - Full Time

Duties

• Custodial functions
• Grounds-keeping including landscaping and snow removal
• Minimal masonry
• Minor carpentry, plumbing, appliance repairs and electrical work
• Painting
• Completing work orders in occupied units
• Turnover of vacant units
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• General knowledge of housing maintenance practices
• At least two-years work experience with building maintenance and general repairs preferred
• Experience in operating hand and power tools
• Experience with motorized equipment and vehicles
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects, and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to understand and record written information
• Ability to communicate effectively and process work order documents/paperwork efficiently in the housing authority’s software
• Interact with residents in a responsive, responsible manner
• Willingness to participate in related training opportunities both virtually and in person
• Willingness to work within the housing directives established by the Executive Director, the state’s Office of Housing and Livable Communities and US Dept of HUD

Required

• A high-school diploma
• Related training or work experience
• Basic computer literacy
• A valid MA driver's license maintained while employed

Pay

The current pay rate for this position is $31.05.
