The Hamilton facility, Tronox's largest titanium dioxide manufacturing plant, is located on 3,000 acres in Northeast Mississippi. The area offers easy access to world-class attractions, including Beale Street, Graceland, Nashville, New Orleans Creole cuisine, Gulf Coast beaches, and premier SEC college sporting events.

About the role

This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective planning of maintenance activities performed by both internal and contracted resources. The role drives continuous improvement of maintenance strategies, monitors and reports key performance indicators, develops and manages maintenance budgets and forecasts, and recommends and implements training and development programs for direct reports. Additionally, this position ensures plant operations are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner and in compliance with all applicable environmental policies and regulations. The incumbent demonstrates and promotes Tronox's core values by treating others with respect and acting with personal accountability, organizational integrity, and a commitment to operational excellence. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance planning team to ensure all planning activities are executed efficiently and effectively in alignment with business objectives and operational requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with planners to enhance existing maintenance plans and develop standardized task instructions that improve planning effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate on maintenance improvement initiatives to optimize standard tasks, procedures, and bills of materials, enhancing equipment reliability and execution efficiency.
  • Drive maintenance planning performance through the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of key planning KPIs to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the accuracy and health of the maintenance work order backlog, ensuring timely review, prioritization, and execution of planned work.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of CMMS data, maintenance plans, and standard task instructions through routine audits and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Direct all aspects of major plant shutdown planning, scheduling, and preparation activities, ensuring organizational readiness, efficient resource utilization, and successful execution by maintenance teams.
  • Support the development of the facility maintenance budget in collaboration with key stakeholders and department leaders. Manage maintenance budget performance and forecast variances, identifying opportunities to improve cost control and resource utilization.
  • Partner with Maintenance and Reliability Engineers to implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies that improve asset performance and reduce downtime.
  • Develop and maintain maintenance KPIs while supporting monthly maintenance cost reporting and performance analysis.
  • Lead and support site supervision in improving work order quality to enhance reliability analysis, planning efficiency, and maintenance execution.
  • Assist with inventory optimization efforts by reviewing obsolete stock, eliminating unnecessary materials, and evaluating requests for new inventory items and stocking levels.
  • Supervise and develop maintenance planners through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture by encouraging, trusting, and respecting all employees through consistent and unbiased leadership that reinforces Tronox values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of Tronox maintenance experience or a combination of ten (10) years of maintenance planning and industrial plant maintenance experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • 2-year industrial degree preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, financial and execution processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to effectively interface with personnel at all levels of the organization through strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven capabilities in negotiation, coaching, collaboration, conflict resolution, and influencing others to achieve business objectives.
  • Must thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be clean-shaven in areas where facial hair would interfere with the proper fit and seal of a respirator (no beards, sideburns, or excessive growth).
  • Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc., and move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments.
  • Occasionally remain stationary for prolonged periods, standing and sitting, and perform repetitive motions involving hands and wrists.
  • Constantly assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned and communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Occasionally work in varied environments that may include extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, and rainy weather), elevated noisy areas, poor ventilation, confined and tight spaces.
  • Occasionally lift, move, and adjust objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
