Maintenance Planner/Scheduler
About the role
Provide hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance support to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment. Responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and supporting capital and reliability improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance Execution: Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on plant equipment, complete assigned work orders safely and efficiently, and execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks to improve reliability and uptime
- Electrical & Instrumentation: Maintain and repair electrical systems, motors, control panels, and instrumentation, support installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment, and diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions
- Mechanical Maintenance: Maintain pumps, valves, conveyors, rotating equipment, and mechanical systems, perform alignment, lubrication, and mechanical repairs, and support equipment rebuilds and installations
- Safety & Compliance: Support compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, participate in PHAs, HAZOPs, SOP development, and safety reviews, and follow OSHA and site safety procedures at all times
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and improve performance, support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process optimization, and assist in developing maintenance procedures and training documentation
- Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Contractors, support training and skill development across the maintenance team, and foster teamwork and knowledge sharing across disciplines
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, technical certification (Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical), OR equivalent experience
- 2–5 years of maintenance experience (mechanical, electrical, or both) required
- 5–10 years of industrial/plant experience preferred
Skills
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills (rotating equipment, piping, valves)
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and instrumentation
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and work order management
- Familiarity with SAP or similar systems preferred
Schedule
Rotating shift schedule. Initial schedule: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The position will transition to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, which may include: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. / 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. / 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
