Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plans and schedules all maintenance work including day-to-day activities, one-day outages, and major shutdowns.
  • Provides leadership and coaching to the maintenance team in driving them to achieve work objectives and performance standards.
  • Aids the plant in providing necessary maintenance resources and record keeping to increase plant productivity.
  • Assists in maintenance work preparations to improve work efficiencies and increase plant performance.
  • Supports the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) inclusive of asset management, work planning, and spare parts inventory.
  • Coordinates the interface of the CMMS system, procedures, and data transfer to various departments and databases.
  • Ensures all CMMS procedures are developed and followed throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Advanced degree/certification(s) in technical and/or maintenance related discipline preferred.
  • Two to five (2-5) years of industrial experience in a chemical plant or other related industry experience.
  • Experience working in a union environment a plus.
  • One to three (1-3) years’ maintenance and supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of one to three (1-3) years’ maintenance planner/scheduler experience.
  • Working knowledge of chemical plant equipment (pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, instrumentation, etc.).
  • Background in maintenance and repair of equipment to effectively plan daily maintenance department activities.
  • Experience working and managing on a PSM site.
  • PHA and MOC experience are strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of chemical manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Strong “troubleshooting/diagnostic” skills.
  • Experience working and managing in both batch and continuous operations.
  • Knowledge of Federal/State EPA and OSHA compliance standards.
  • Six Sigma knowledge and training a plus.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience using ERP preferred.
  • Prior experience in stores MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operating) materials Inventory Management.
  • Proficient with ERP systems a plus.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot operational and equipment problems and provide reasonable and accurate recommendations and solutions.
  • Communicate both orally and in writing to individuals; present complex situations in a concise manner.
  • Interact effectively with technical and professional contacts, as well as hourly workforce.
  • Organize, manage time, and maintain interpersonal relationships.
  • Manage projects and lead teams.
  • Use computer skills, including CMMS, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Build partnerships across and between functional groups.
  • Manage union hourly workforce.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance work.
