Maintenance Planner
About the role
Purpose: Support maintenance and reliability for a manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain solid fundamental preventative and predictive schedules in the CMMSCollaborate with all departments to translate work requirements into clear achievable plansWork directly with maintenance and purchasing to plan and prioritize maintenance workPlans maintenance tasks as well as shutdowns and other project workFollows the planning process as outlined in the Reliability PlaybookPrepares job plans for maintenance work in the mill, with safety instructions and special precautionsAttend the Daily approval meeting and the weekly partner meeting
- Covers coordination with purchasing to ensure parts availabilityMaintains maintenance and equipment records and generates reports; i.e. open work orders, past due work orders, completed work orders, labor utilization by work order type, equipment historical cost analysis, etc
- Tracks availability of crew resourcesProvides job estimates as requiredCoordinates and prioritizes planning and maintenance work with production requirementsCoordinate the PDM results, use results for planning of required maintenanceModels company core values
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment as a Millwright, Electrician, or other equivalent technical trade
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated understanding of company safety policies and expectations
- Ability to read blueprints and some drafting
- PC operation and experience (Word, Access, Excel, Preventive Maintenance Systems, etc)
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Able to make decisions and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Able to work independently
- Able to listen, write, and speak effectively
- Able to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment
- Willing to work anytime as required to meet mill needs including nights, weekends and holidays if necessary
- Willing to attend additional training with passing grades as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates’ degree in business, manufacturing, production or related field
- Maintenance background in both electrical and mechanical trades
- Previous experience with CMMS systems (currently EAM)
