Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of planned maintenance work — from identifying equipment needs and developing job plans to ensuring materials are ready and work is executed to standard.
- Work closely with maintenance supervision, craft technicians, engineers, and operations to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a healthy backlog of fully planned, ready-to-schedule work to support consistent crew utilization.
- Develop detailed job plans, including work steps, materials, and resource requirements, in collaboration with craft, engineering, and OEM resources.
- Prioritize and plan work in alignment with guidance from the Maintenance Area Supervisor.
- Optimize preventive maintenance job plans using reliability-centered principles, with focus on critical assets.
- Develop and maintain PMs, predictive maintenance tasks, and standard work instructions.
- Analyze condition-based monitoring reports and initiate follow-up work orders as needed.
- Cook up spare parts and kitting, verifying material completeness in advance of scheduled work to prevent delays and minimize downtime.
- Conduct pre-job walkthroughs with supervisors and craft to validate scope, safety, and readiness before work begins.
- Perform job plan audits during execution and update plans based on feedback to improve future work.
- Support equipment start-up following outages to ensure a successful return to operation.
- Participate in or lead daily and weekly team meetings and contribute to root cause analyses.
- Support the team during breakdowns and production upsets through the established escalation process.
- Backfill for the Maintenance Area Supervisor as needed.
- Oversee planned work execution, including coordination with contractors when necessary.
- Verify work quality to support safe return to service and minimize the risk of premature failures.
Qualifications
- Ace a degree or higher in a technical field, or have 10+ years of technical training and/or experience in maintenance, engineering technology, or related field.
- Have 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process operations.
- Have 2+ years of maintenance planning, scheduling, supervisory or engineering experience.
- Have experience working with a CMMS (SAP PM, IBM Maximo, or equivalent).
- Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
- Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work effectively with maintenance craft, operations, engineering, and contractors.
- Have working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment systems.
- Have familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and automation.
- Be able to read and interpret equipment manuals, P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, electrical and mechanical drawings, and technical documents.
- Have knowledge and application of preventive and predictive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) best practices, and condition-based monitoring (CBM) principles.
- Have knowledge of NFPA 70E, ASME, ANSI, and other applicable codes.
- Have knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, and contractor safety practices.
- Must be able to work in an industrial setting.
