About the role

The Maintenance Planner at Pennex's Wellsville, PA location is responsible for improving work force productivity and work quality by coordinating maintenance tasks efficiently. This role involves planning and scheduling maintenance work, liaising with operations and maintenance teams, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the principal contact between the Maintenance department and the plant.
  • Screens and reviews work orders from requesting departments.
  • Determines the best way to accomplish requested work and consults with relevant parties as needed.
  • Estimates labor hours and materials needed for each job.
  • Maintains backlog files and schedules maintenance work.
  • Develops and maintains standard job plans for regularly recurring repairs.
  • Reviews labor expenditures and makes recommendations for cost reduction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Desired: Technical or Trade Degree or Certificate.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in welding, manufacturing, or fabrication setting.
  • Previous experience in project management or project coordination preferred.
  • A mechanical and electrical background is required.
  • Adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours, materials, and visualize job execution.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to maintain/update files and systems (CMM).
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and interpret technical instructions.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.
