Job Responsibilities
- Maximize operating profit through planned maintenance activities
- Maximize equipment operational availability through implementing effective planning methods
- Maintain TS/ISO and trade equivalent standards
- Schedule, track and evaluate preventative maintenance to plant equipment
- Generate monthly reports highlighting issues
- Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling business flow process
- Ensure the execution of all tasks as planned and re-plan as required
- Constantly revalidate the time requirements of each task, ensure cost to complete are captured and documented
- Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work
- Schedule downtime to complete in-week and weekend PM’s that provide the most effective production and maintenance outcomes
- Monitor PM completeness and schedule/reschedule accordingly to achieve 100% completion
- Purchase all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work
- Attend and participate in project review meetings, assist in departments long-term planning strategies
- At least quarterly review of completed PM’s and inventory with an emphasis on reducing inventory while ensuring the right parts are available when needed
- Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
- Responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and records database
- Responsible for the CMS/E-Maintenance CMMS work order data base and data integrity, keeping files/logs of the equipment and tooling preventative and corrective maintenance
- Schedule weekly Preventative Maintenance work orders (cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, inspections, small and large repairs)
- Coordinate data and produce reports required daily, weekly and monthly by the Technical Supervisor, Maintenance Area Leader
- Facilitate in the scheduling of, and participate in, shift crossover meetings
- Ensure Key Performance Indicators are documented and reported for maintenance department performances, equipment reliability, maintenance department planning and budgeting
- Facilitate and participate in the weekly team meetings where KPI’s, action item status, and maintenance performance is reviewed, and actions planned
- Participate in scheduled meetings for long range asset planning
- Coordinate and plan work orders for internal operations and identify material for purchase/requisition
- Work in conjunction with the E-maintenance administrator to develop and issue all required data and reports supporting the department and the company’s requirements
Required Skills And Experience
- Certificate of Qualification in a designated skilled trade and/or completion of post-secondary education related to engineering or mechanical technology
- 3-5 years of automotive assembly experience (an asset)
- Prior planning and scheduling experience combined with excellent organizational skills
- Experience using CMS and / or CMMS (preferred) and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel
- Highly analytical in nature, able to interpret, manipulate, and present data using exceptional computer skills
- Solid foundation and understanding of equipment reliability concepts
- Broad basic understanding of engineering practices, functions and calculations
- Practical knowledge of risk management strategies and practices related to plant and equipment
- Able to work in conjunction with skilled trades persons
- Able to interpret preventative maintenance feedback and use this feedback to develop and implement action plans that improve our preventative maintenance programs
- Previous leadership experience (an asset)
