Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our team in Claremore, Oklahoma. This role focuses on improving workforce productivity through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.

About the role

The Maintenance Planner will implement and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance procedures and record keeping. Responsibilities include supporting preventive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs of equipment and systems at multiple sites, day-to-day planning, down day planning, and project management. This position involves coaching, teaching, and mentoring maintenance technicians to enhance their skills in equipment and machinery repair, including electrical, electronics, motor control, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

This position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act (“The Unity Bill”).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the process of launching a CMMS solution at the site level used in daily operations.
  • Ensure Work Orders are meaningful, accurate, and valid historical data is captured in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Collaborate with management in the development of schedules and resource leveling by utilizing the site CMMS program.
  • Work closely with maintenance support staff to ensure they have required tools and resources to be successful.
  • Manage the flow of all maintenance work orders by working with operations, vendors, and maintenance support staff.
  • Plan and schedule technicians and parts needed to perform maintenance activities.
  • Establish and maintain CMMS equipment files, spare part inventory, and program manager schedules.
  • Organize work orders and assign them to individual technicians or work teams across multiple sites and multiple shifts.
  • Provide regular KPI reporting to the management team.
  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Plan and schedule for shutdowns (major and minor), utilizing tools such as Gantt charts (Microsoft Project), Critical Path Analysis, and resource leveling.
  • Demonstrate high initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work safely and efficiently both as a team and independently.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices.
  • Always use personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with tools, machinery, and hazardous materials.
  • Work closely with other team members, including engineers, quality control staff, and supervisors, to ensure smooth operations and address any issues.
  • Communicate any issues that may impact production schedules or quality to management promptly.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of maintenance experience, preferably within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with electrical systems, including 480-volt connections.
  • Advanced practical knowledge and 5+ years of experience with PLCs, HMIs, and motor control systems.
  • Experience with CMMS implementation and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of crane operation and welding equipment.
  • Proficient in plumbing and mechanical equipment repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong experience with preventive maintenance procedures and work order systems.
  • Forklift training and certification (provided by the company).
  • CNC machine experience is highly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Work Environment

This role operates in a non-temperature controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles typical of metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment, including noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, paint masks, respirators (when required), and OSHA-compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Requires walking, reaching, ascending/descending ladders, bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Local travel will be required.
