About the Role

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for owning the Maintenance, Planning, and Scheduling system. You are part of the operations leadership team that supports and implements change management and productivity improvements within the plant. This role focuses on leading Maintenance standard work practices to ensure reliability, maintainability, and availability of plant resources, with a specific emphasis on overall deterioration losses to deliver the plant’s Compelling Business Need. The position also includes responsibility for assuring food safety and food quality for Dessert Holdings.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable for MP&S Competency, ensuring plant standards align with Dessert Holdings Standards, including proper use of the CMMS system and master data standardization.
  • Reviews all incoming approved work orders to ensure Safety, Material, People, Tools, When, Where (SIMPTWWI) are included on all job plans.
  • Ensures all assets within the CMMS are maintained from cradle to grave, including BOMs, PMS, and critical spare parts for each asset. Accountable for ensuring new equipment follows the same standards.
  • Drives improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability by focusing on the plant’s top losses and actively participating in Daily Direction Setting meetings.
  • Accountable for the spare parts process, ensuring proper safety stock levels and alignment of maintenance strategies.
  • Creates and publishes the plant maintenance work plan for the week, including any standard plant stops.
  • Works collaboratively with the Maintenance Manager to set 30/90-day actions to meet key standard metrics aligned with Dessert Holdings Standards.
  • Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices to ensure workplace safety and the production of safe, quality products.
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor and reporting structure.
  • Documents all maintenance work activity within the CMMS system.
  • Effectively supports the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Master Data and CMMS systems.
  • Mechanical and Electrical experience and understanding.
  • Experience leading and owning RCA processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of component failure modes and countermeasure preventative maintenance tasks to prevent failures.
  • Ability to understand Total Cost of Ownership and coach the maintenance team on changes or creation of maintenance standards.
  • Ability to record all maintenance work within the CMMS system and follow all CMMS processes and procedures.
  • Flexible schedule; willingness to work overtime, including weekends if necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills.
  • FEMA / RCM development and implementation experience.
  • Working knowledge of ovens, bakery equipment, and packaging equipment.
  • AIB Bakery Equipment training course is helpful.
  • 3+ years of industrial mechanical experience or a two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Must successfully complete HACCP Certification.
  • Forklift License or ability to complete required training within 90 days of hire.

Pay

The typical hiring range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, based on factors such as education, work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
