At Roseberry Care, we’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Operative who is committed to keeping our home running smoothly and making a real difference to the daily lives of others—especially older and vulnerable people.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering).
- Respond promptly to reported faults or emergency maintenance requests.
- Perform general handyman duties, including assembling furniture, moving equipment, and minor groundskeeping.
- Support external contractors when on site.
- Keep maintenance records and reports up to date.
Requirements
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (desirable but not required)
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Full UK driving licence.

Your Role
As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for general repairs, routine maintenance, and ensuring the home is compliant with health and safety regulations. Your role is essential in ensuring the home runs smoothly and safely on a day-to-day basis. You will ultimately operate dually across both The Ferns and Primrose Lodge which are both sited in the same location.
What We’re Looking For
- Rewarded trade qualifications or certifications (desirable but not required)
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance or handyman role.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Full UK driving licence.

Pay
£13.50/hour
Schedule
32.5 Hours/week – Mon – Fri with occasional weekend work to cover events/call outs
