Job Summary
The Position is responsible for providing general maintenance skills to the DPW Parks Maintenance, Street Maintenance, or Traffic Maintenance Sections.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent, and one (1) year experience is preferred.
- Must be able to perform manual labor tasks that require lifting and carrying objects weighing twenty-five (25) pounds or more.
- Must be able to set up and operate all equipment and machinery associated with sign manufacturing, sign installation and sign removal, including but not limited to; aerial lift truck, sign installation truck, generator, squeeze roller, presses, bench grinder, drill press, forklift and various powered and non-powered hand tools.
- A valid Class A CDL Driver’s License is preferred, Class B license required.
Position Responsibilities
- Plows snow, mows grass and performs other duties associated with the maintenance of municipal Streets and Parks infrastructure utilizing equipment such as; snow plow, salt spreader, lawn mower, mowing attachments, dump bed, air hammer & attachments, air and hydraulic breaking equipment.
- Assists workers of other crews in their duties.
- Ability to do minor concrete work.
- Performs chuckhole patching, debris removal, sidewalk/curb patching.
- Ensures temporary traffic controls at work site.
- Trims tree limbs so they do not block signs.
- Keeps daily record and log of work completed and supplies used.
- Performs related duties as assigned and observes and follows all safety regulations.
