About the role

Our Maintenance Technician 2 supports Mativ’s Filtration and Advanced Materials Function.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and effective maintenance of the plant in accordance to the requirements of the production schedule.
  • Responsible for the preventive maintenance and installation of equipment.
  • Ensure an accident-free environment and communicate any issues to leadership.
  • Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
  • Attend safety meetings and maintain a clean production area and workshop.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and ability to recognize and correct system weaknesses.
  • Proper use of Mativ Lockout/Tagout procedures and safe use of authorized utility knife.
  • Complete necessary housekeeping duties and comply with all OSHA/Company safety requirements.
  • Respond with a sense of urgency to problems within the plant and communicate equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Rebuild equipment and assemblies as needed and modify existing equipment as needed.
  • Complete required preventive maintenance in a timely manner and assure calibrations are completed.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance experience.
  • Communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read and comprehend English.
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of the maintenance technician and read basic schematics.
  • Understand simple ladder logic and identify and use basic electrical test equipment.
  • Knowledge of 3 phase power and circuits, DC motors and controls, and AC motors and controls.
  • Knowledge of basic machine mechanics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with VFD (Variable Frequency Drives).
  • Familiarity with PLC’s and basic trouble shooting.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E Safety Requirements.
