Maintenance / Buildings & Grounds position
Full-Time Position, Night Shift (3 - 11:30 PM)
- Qualifications:
- Strong Plumbing and HVAC experience needed.
- Appropriate licenses preferred. Black Seal Boiler Operator’s License preferred or willing to get within first year of employment.
- High School or equivalent/vocational courses preferred.
- Knowledge of school or plant operations and maintenance.
- Good physical health and ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Minimum of one-year previous work related experience.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal alien status.
Performance Responsibilities
- Maintain a variety of jobs such as replacing light bulbs, adjusting equipment to proper operating specifications, assisting in snow removal, welding, basic carpentry, electrical and plumbing repairs.
- Helps more experienced personnel with maintenance repairs such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating, and masonry.
- Performs a variety of jobs such as replacing light bulbs, shoveling snow, etc.
- Maintains tools and equipment.
- Follows standard oral or written instructions from supervisor.
- Maintains school safety standards, specifications, and good housekeeping in work areas.
- Inspects mechanical equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc.
- Receives instructions covering scheduled repair, installation, inspection, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Advises supervision when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage.
- Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, and lubricates mechanical equipment.
- Adjusts equipment to proper operating specifications and makes temporary or permanent repairs.
- Operates power tools such as drill press, pipe threading machine, power saws, burning tools, etc.
- Performs custodial and other duties when needed during absenteeism, emergencies, or whenever needed.
- Helps in snow removal and cleaning up of grounds, including driving of heavy as well as light equipment during this type of work.
- Makes major repairs to heating systems.
- Repairs and overhauls regulators, valves, trap assemblies, and pumping systems, and replaces piping for all systems when necessary.
- Performs welding, iron work, carpentry, masonry, and roofing repair work as required.
- Considers all safety precautions and proper isolation of circuits to cause a minimum of interference to operations.
- Performs work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specifications, codes, principles of various operations, and application of equipment.
- Locate sources of trouble in electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operations.
- Dismantles, inspects, repairs, adjusts, or replaces faulty components and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panels, circuit breakers, rectifiers, and electronic devices.
- Performs all other duties as deemed necessary by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.
Salary
$60,575 - $69,975/annually based on yrs of experience
