Maintenance New Hire
The Job
Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, replacing, and installing plant mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for all plant equipment. Including machinery maintenance, lubrication, PM’s, trouble shooting, repairing, upgrading, welding, fabricating, and possible installations.
Responsible for lubrication/ preventative maintenance on equipment, such as corrugator, diecut, folder, conveyors, stackers, banders etc. Be able to read and understand mechanical prints, AC/DC motors, pneumatic diagrams, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Troubleshoot, repair and install mechanical components, AC/DC motors, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, bearings, and power transmission.
- Perform fabrication of equipment (welding both arc and gas) to desired needs.
- Make adjustments on equipment to improve productivity.
- Identify and locate unusual sounds that indicate potential trouble.
- Dismantle equipment to gain access to replace defective parts.
- Maintain adequate inventories of spare parts.
- Accurately and completely prepare and maintain records and other paperwork.
- Maintain work areas to plant standards of housekeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Predictive Maintenance Data Collection and PM Planning
Skills
Must have working knowledge of various types of measurement equipment (dial calipers, heat sensing guns, etc.).
Able to examine and determine to what degree parts have worn, and repair or replace parts as needed.
Able to use hand tools to remove/replace and repair parts.
This all will be done in a safe manner.
Operate all types of hand tools (i.e. drill press, grinder, wire brush, acetylene torch, etc.) normally found in a Maintenance shop.
Must possess excellent attendance and safety record with a demonstrated ability to follow directions.
