About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the process and executing long-term strategic plans.

Responsibilities

- Observes mechanical equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble.
- Schedule, trains, supervise and motivate employees for maintenance tasks.
- Cookordinate work performed by outside vendors.
- Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates.
- Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts.
- Control and monitor inventory.
- Dismantles equipment to remove and replace defective parts.
- Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control instruments.
- Ensure that all equipment complies with OEMs and regulatory agencies operating standards.
- Ensure proper equipment lubrication in compliance with OEMs lubrication schedule.
- Follows preventive maintenance works order procedures.
- Develop familiarity with and ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and community company policies and procedures as they pertain to facility operations and equipment usage and operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- A High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Technical School Preferred
- Previous supervisory skills in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing/production environment
- Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work from a set of written instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Must speak and understand English; Spanish speaking is a plus
- One year minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
