MAINTENANCE MECHANIC **REPOST**
Main Purpose of Job
Independently perform routine and preventative maintenance in trade areas in the Maintenance Department. Maintain the hospital's buildings and provide a safe environment for patients and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Eighth grade
- Experience: Three years of experience in any combination of the maintenance trades, provided that at least two years are primarily in electricity, plumbing, steamfittings, refrigeration, or air-conditioning
Substitutions
- Additional experience in any maintenance trade may substitute on a year-for-year basis for up to three years of the required education
- Possession of a degree from an accredited vocational or technical high school with a major in Building Maintenance or a related field may substitute for the required experience
- U.S. Armed Forces military service as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in any combination of maintenance trades may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience
Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications
Employees assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be included in further evaluation, which may be a rating of application based on education, training, and experience. Complete and accurate information is essential. Report all related education, experience, dates, and hours of work. Clearly indicate college degree and major if applicable. For education obtained outside the U.S., any job offer is contingent on providing an evaluation for equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service prior to starting employment.
