About the role

The position involves maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of all packaging machinery and systems. Responsibilities include leading TPM methodologies, ensuring quality standards, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate status of equipment and known issues with supervisors, mechanics, operators, and other employees.
  • Maintain open communication and utilize all required systems (asset management, etc.).
  • Lead, train, and coach TPM initiatives.
  • Participate in line improvement teams.
  • Propose and implement improvements to the line within the team as well as independently.
  • Effectively use data to develop action plans to address downtime.
  • Utilize PDCA cycle for communication and decision making.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all mechanical equipment as assigned.
  • Assess material requirements, requisition placement, and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, including modification of design, replacement of parts, and adjustment of equipment settings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting OR equivalent education/training/certification(s) accompanied with minimum 1 year experience.
  • Working knowledge of the production process, items produced, and equipment utilized.
  • Understanding of and experience maintaining machine safety standards.
  • Understanding of equipment design best practices.
  • Basic computer skills (ability to learn a computerized maintenance management system/Microsoft Outlook/etc.).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working on industrial machines as part of a team.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing.
  • Continuous movement in and around packaging line.
  • Frequent bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Pushing and pulling up to 50lbs.
