Maintenance Mechanic – Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Repair and replace defective machine components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Inspect, adjust, and maintain production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Perform machine setup adjustments and support production during equipment changeovers.
  • Repair and maintain End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT) and other production equipment.
  • Install and repair electrical wiring, conduit, copper piping, and PVC piping as needed.
  • Use electrical testing equipment such as volt/ohm meters to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance records and update maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Identify replacement parts, manage maintenance inventory, and coordinate with equipment vendors when necessary.
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair status with production and maintenance teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with production equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Plastic injection molding equipment maintenance.
  • Industrial machinery repair.
  • Preventive maintenance programs.
  • CMMS software.
  • Mechatronics and production equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
  • Must follow all workplace safety policies and procedures.
