Position Summary
As a Machinist / Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll maintain and repair/rebuild equipment and machine parts and components needed to ensure high-speed equipment runs smoothly. This includes diagnosing, repairing, machining, and fabricating parts, while adhering to safety and quality standards.
How You’ll Impact Results
- Machining, Fabrication & Repair: Rebuild equipment, manufacture parts as needed, and fabricate components from blueprints or concepts using machining tools
- Equipment Maintenance: Diagnose issues, modify, repair, and calibrate high-speed packaging machinery and process equipment
- Troubleshooting: Perform equipment changeovers and troubleshoot using preventive maintenance programs (PMs), SOPs, and equipment manuals
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks and repairs to prevent equipment failures
- Safety Compliance: Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain a safe working environment
- Documentation: Accurately document all work performed to meet company policies and regulatory standards
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work with team members to ensure the facility meets GMP, sanitation, food safety, and quality standards
- Machinery Operation: operate high lifts and fork trucks (Training is available)
Qualifications That Will Ensure Success
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills, with the ability to maintain various processing machines
- 4+ years of maintenance and/or milling and machining experience
- Machining Expertise: Experience operating a manual lathe and/or milling machine
- Commitment to safety, GMP, and quality/food safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Testing Requirements
- General Basic Test (Minimum 80%)
- Machinist Test (Minimum 85%)
