About the role

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at JLL, you'll be an essential part of keeping our client's commercial facilities running smoothly and safely. This hands-on role involves performing general maintenance work across building systems, furniture, and equipment while supporting senior technicians on more complex projects. You'll move and warehouse furniture between buildings, complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, and respond to facility emergencies with professionalism and urgency. Responsibilities

  • Move furniture and equipment as directed, including trucking items between buildings and managing warehouse storage
  • Perform general maintenance work on building equipment and structures, including minor door and desk repairs, chair and shelving adjustments, ceiling tile and light bulb replacement, and carpet/floor tile repairs
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance (PMs) and corrective maintenance (CMs) work, conducting inspections on doors, equipment, mechanical rooms, common areas, and building lighting
  • Assist senior mechanics, engineers, and specialized technicians with complex tasks, major repairs, and data collection as needed
  • Clean chiller condenser/evaporator tubes and plate frame heat exchangers as required
  • Respond promptly to plant and site emergencies including fires, flooding, leaks, and power outages while maintaining familiarity with emergency contacts
  • Supervise contractor work on occasion and train new personnel as assigned
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, complying with all JLL and client safety requirements, procedures, and programs
  • Work overtime, after hours, weekends, and holidays as required, including both scheduled and emergency situations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
  • Clean driver's license to transport furniture and materials between buildings
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs and meet physical demands including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and working in varied positions
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and verbally communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
  • Capability to organize workload efficiently to meet customer requirements
  • Willingness to attend all scheduled safety training offered by management
  • Availability to work in environments with exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, outdoor weather, electrical systems, and moderate to loud noise levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and experience with office furniture installation and repair, including ability to hang whiteboards and overstores
  • Experience with basic general maintenance across commercial building systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and associated programs
  • Ability to read and interpret basic layout drawings, system drawings, and manufacturers' equipment specifications
  • Knowledge of standard maintenance practices and procedures
  • General CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) experience
  • Exposure to commercial mechanical, electrical, and building systems
