Responsibilities
- Perform highly diversified duties to maintain and troubleshoot existing production machines and plant facility equipment, including occasional new equipment installations.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during or after production runs and perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Perform basic machinist duties (e.g., drilling, tapping, lapping, cut-off saw).
- Apply mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, controls, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting during equipment repair.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Handle a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and report issues or unusual situations to supervision.
- Comply with local safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
Skills
- Technical troubleshooting capability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with operators and management regarding issues, status, and improvements.
- Results-driven with initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
- Understanding of downtime as it relates to production and maintenance’s role in supporting production.
