Maintenance Mechanic III PRN
About the role
The Maintenance Mechanic position at Heart Hospital of Austin requires 5 years of experience in a large commercial industrial or health care facility as an electrician, HVAC and Plant Operator, or plumber with general and structural maintenance, modification, renovation, and interior construction. Previous experience in general maintenance in a hospital or similar institution is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building components.
- Diagnose problems, offer solutions, and ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients.
- Perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks, including:
- Repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities
- Preventive maintenance on hospital and plant equipment
- Execution of miscellaneous work orders and answering trouble calls
- Accurate documentation and maintenance of records for the facility
- Routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance
- Assistance in ordering parts and supplies needed for maintenance
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Technical, Vocational or other equivalent education

You will work alongside the Engineering Manager to diagnose problems, offer solutions, and ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients. You will perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks, including repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities, preventive maintenance on hospital and plant equipment, execution of miscellaneous work orders and answering trouble calls, accurate documentation and maintenance of records for the facility, routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance, and assistance in ordering parts and supplies needed for maintenance.
