Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems to support the site’s business goals.
  • Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Apply mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Equipment Operating Demands

  • Operate forklifts.
  • Operate pallet stretch-wrapping machines.
  • Operate cardboard baling machines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working in a maintenance capacity.

Skills

  • Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and deal with problems from various situations.
  • Mathematics Ability: Perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with two-digit numbers, 10’s, 100’s, and units of measurement (inch, foot, yard, ounce, pound).
  • Language Ability: Print simple sentences, series of numbers, names, and addresses; communicate in simple sentences.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to warehousing.
  • Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for prolonged periods.
  • Adjust or move objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.
  • Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Regularly talk and hear.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb.
  • Frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Conditions

  • Subject to a variety of environmental conditions, both inside and outside.
  • Exposure to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from weather.
  • Exposure to extreme cold (below 32 degrees for over one hour) and extreme heat (above 100 degrees for over one hour).
  • Exposure to noise levels requiring shouting to be heard.
  • Exposure to vibration affecting extremities or the whole body.
  • Exposure to hazards, including moving mechanical parts, electrical current, elevated working surfaces, heat, and chemicals (airborne and/or skin exposure).
  • Exposure to atmospheric conditions affecting the respiratory system or skin, such as odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • May require travel to other locations to support facility needs.

Schedule

Monday–Wednesday, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM. This full-time position is expected to work approximately 30–40 hours per week (good faith estimate; actual hours may vary based on business needs).

Pay

The compensation target for this role is $29.00–$34.00 per hour.
