Job Responsibilities
- Machining and Mold Service Performance
- Responsible for machining parts from blueprints and drawings using shop equipment, including lathe milling machines, grinders, drill press, and other equipment.
- Evaluate molds and equipment to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment, maintain product quality and workmanship, and meet efficiency goals while reducing waste.
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of molds. Review molds and molded parts to determine required repairs.
- Apply performance data and statistical analysis of OEE, Cavitation, Cycle Time, and Downtime reports to drive improvements in the molding departments.
- Maintenance Support
- Read and understand electrical and hydraulic prints.
- Identify and repair mechanical devices and equipment.
- Assist maintenance and service technicians.
- Build replacement parts for production machinery.
- Identify and repair issues in electrical systems.
- Install new equipment and relocate equipment when necessary.
- Perform modifications on existing equipment.
- Analyze problems and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Perform welding and sheet metal fabrication using arc and gas welders, metal saws, grinders, power shears, sheet metal brake, precision measurement equipment, and other shop tools.
- Maintain knowledge of plant and department environmental health and safety regulations and align with them strictly.
- Complete work orders for equipment-related problems.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, required.
- Technical school certification in maintenance field (Machine Tool preferred).
- Experience working with and maintaining plastic injection molds is preferred.
- 3+ years of related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, layout equipment, all precision measuring tools, volt meters, drill press, surface grinder, metal lathe, milling machines, heat treat furnaces, welding and fabrication equipment, and test equipment.
- Computer proficiency in Maximo, CAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
- RJG decoupled molding or scientific molding certification is preferred.
- Ability to meet visual acuity requirements as detailed in the Baxter Cleveland Visual Acuity procedure CL-01-01-037.
- Familiarity with machines, robots, and automation is beneficial.
- Having in-depth familiarity with Arburg, Sumitomo, Engel, Husky, and Sidel machines plus auxiliary devices such as Wittmann, Strelco, Motan, and robots is beneficial.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, reach above shoulders, and bend/stoop.
