Maintenance Mechanic II

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and hydraulic systems or tools.

Schedule: 2nd Shift, 3:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m., Monday – Thursday. Second shift employees are eligible for a 20% shift differential on top of base pay.

Pay

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $30.24 to $40.32 per hour. The exact rate may be based on a combination of factors, including knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, and education.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.
• Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
• Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments, involving dismantling, inspection, machining, or replacement of purchased parts.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Provide maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• May repair electrical equipment.
• Reliable attendance is required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• 2 years of related experience in an industrial environment.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• 4 years of related experience.
• Electrical Certificate.
• Background in PLCs and electronics.
• Experience with Electrical Robotics, ABB, and Fanuc.
• Background in Die Cast or Plastic Injection.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.

• Strength Level Rating: Heavy work. Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 25 to 50 pounds frequently, or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

  • Reach by extending hands and arms.
  • Handle objects by seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands.
  • Pick, pinch, or otherwise work primarily with fingers.

  • Climb (e.g., ascend/descend ladders, stairs) where body agility is emphasized.

  • Kneel by bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee(s).
