About the role

The position involves independently performing skilled mechanical repair work in the adjustment, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of machinery and equipment such as water pumps, mechanical laundry equipment, and continuing work assignments in accordance with diagrams. Other duties include the inspection, repair and conducting preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment in tunnels and on tunnels approaches, to conduct and report on structural inspections of tunnels, and viaducts, reading operating manuals, while following the manufacturer's specifications, basic trade practices, and other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs skilled mechanical repair work in the adjustment, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of machinery and equipment such as water pumps, mechanical laundry equipment, and continuing work assignments in accordance with diagrams.
• Inspection, repair and conducting preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment in tunnels and on tunnels approaches.
• Conducting and reporting on structural inspections of tunnels and viaducts.
• Reading operating manuals, while following the manufacturer's specifications, basic trade practices, and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of work experience in performing the mechanical repair and maintenance of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• A valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
• Certified as a competent operator of a diesel-powered forklift and competent operator of an aerial lift within six (6) months from the date of hire.

Qualifications

• Legal Authorization To Work: Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
