Maintenance Mechanic I
About the role
As Our Maintenance Mechanic I, you will assist higher level mechanics with duties such as servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles. Your responsibilities also include performing preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery (such as greasing, changing bearings, and replacing worn parts), ensuring machinery operates at 100% capacity to meet daily production demands. Additionally, you will be responsible for conveyor belt repair and replacement, turning off and locking out/tagging out equipment when not in use, completing required paperwork (such as maintenance logs and repair logs), and notifying leads or supervisors of any malfunctions or repairs needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist higher level mechanics with duties such as servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery (such as greasing, changing bearings, and replacing worn parts).
- Ensure machinery runs at 100% capacity to meet daily production demand.
- Conduct conveyor belt repair and replacement.
- Turn off and lock out/tag out equipment when not in use.
- Complete required paperwork (such as maintenance logs and repair logs).
- Notify leads or supervisors of any malfunctions or repairs needed.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures, including warm, hot, humid, cold, wet, or with slippery surfaces, at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Hours vary based on production needs and extended hours may be required.
- Must be able to successfully complete training: Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food defense.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior maintenance experience.
- Prior production experience.
- Work history in the last 12 months.
