Maintenance Mechanic I
About the role
Lief Labs is looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician I, 1st Shift (5am-1:30pm) to help keep our production equipment and facility operations running smoothly. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
- Diagnose and repair production equipment during operation and breakdowns
- Ensure optimal performance and reliability of machinery
- Partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams on root cause analysis (5 Whys, incident management, change management)
- Support plant goals in safety, productivity, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team projects
- Execute planned, corrective, and preventative maintenance activities
- Complete and document work orders in CMMS systems accurately and on time
- Absorb and maintain shop organization (5S)
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure proper use of equipment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with preventative maintenance and break-fix repairs
- PLC troubleshooting (preferred)
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of electrical (460 VAC 3-phase & 110 VAC), mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment
- Familiarity with hand tools, specialized tools, and CMMS systems
- Basic Microsoft Office skills

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Lift and move 1050 lbs, with support equipment for heavier loads

Work Environment
The work will be performed in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), manufacturing environment where products are produced under strict regulatory and quality standards to ensure safety, consistency, and compliance. This environment includes controlled cleanroom facilities, documented processes, and adherence to FDA 21 CFR Part 211 requirements. Employees must follow all GMP procedures, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and participate in quality assurance activities.
Additional Information
- The hourly pay rate for this position is $29.20 - $34.00 USD.
- Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, skills, and education.
