Schedule

1st shift, 40–48 hours per week plus overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust equipment as needed
  • Perform equipment changeovers according to production demands
  • Provide preventative maintenance to plant equipment
  • Rebuild conveyors and sorting equipment
  • Evaluate and maintain hand tools for condition and compliance
  • Read and interpret mechanical prints; apply knowledge of motors and controls
  • Use PLC programming (a plus)
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely
  • Continuously improve skills as outlined by the maintenance training matrix
  • Communicate effectively, receive and follow direction, and provide feedback
  • Work cooperatively with teammates as a natural work team
  • Document maintenance records accurately using CMMS System
  • Prepare new machines for operation following protocols and perform regular technical testing to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Collect data on machine operation and suggest actions to reduce machine downtime
  • Carry out additional duties as requested by supervisor

Requirements

  • Handle moderately complex issues and problems; refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Solid working knowledge of subject matter
  • Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program
  • 2 to 4 years of experience
  • Proficient and experienced in cutting, welding, and grinding (required)
  • Ability to lift 10–50 lbs., often carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Physical stamina and dexterity
  • Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching
  • Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment (e.g., engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines) in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications
