Responsibilities

  • Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned area with minimal supervision
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting bottling, filling equipment and gantry palletizers
  • Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving
  • Promptly respond to equipment related issues with customer-oriented manner
  • Perform general electrical repairs including wire connections, relays, photo-eyes, solenoids, working with 120v-480v, diagnose and wire up motors and troubleshoot variable speed drives. Must be able to properly use multimeter and read schematics
  • Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspections
  • Modify, repair, install and troubleshoot various conveyor systems including but not limited to roller, belt, intralox, gravity, chain plate type
  • Diagnose, rebuild, troubleshoot and replace various pump types
  • Experience with using CMMS (MaintainX) and documenting emergency and planned work and good communication skills
  • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
  • Setup, takedown, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment
  • Frequently modify packaging & process equipment for new products
  • Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems
  • Experience with general shop tools and fabrication including use of grinders, saws, presses, lathes and mills
  • Lifting, twisting, carrying up to 45 lbs. is a requirement of the position
  • Working in non-temperature and temperature-controlled environments
  • Possibility of working around high noise levels, depending on location
  • Be able to wear full face respirator as necessary
  • Must be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations

Requirements

2 or more years’ mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment required (food industry is highly preferred)

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required

Ability to communicate effectively

Excellent Interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Time Management and Organization; Ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities

Physical Capabilities: Occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (up to 1/3 of the time). Frequently applying 10 to 25 pounds of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time). Regularly required to handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds throughout the shift (2/3 or more of the time) for moving objects. Must have the ability to perform the following: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Handling

Must be able to visually inspect parts and hear audible alarms and equipment signals, with or without accommodation

Qualifications

Competitive pay range of $30.00–$32.00 per hour, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus
