Troubleshooting and Repairs
- Troubleshoot, recommend, and make repairs
- Change tires, brakes, and perform preventative maintenance
- Maintain condition of service vehicles, trailers, inventory, tools and equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance, diesel and inspect equipment for repair needs
- Perform complex onsite diagnostics and repairs to various equipment including, 2-cycle engines, commercial lawn and garden equipment
- Support operations through repairs in the field, communication, and education of operators when possible
Winter Operations
- Participate in rotating shift schedule to support overnight snow operations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach
- Ability to push/pull
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
- Ability to grasp tools
- Able to do work involving repetitive motion
- Able to work outdoors and in noisy environments
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on mechanical experience working on equipment listed above or similar mechanical/electrical systems
- A keen eye for detail, and problem-solving
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently
- Highly self-motivated with strong time management and attention to detail
- A strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems in various small engine models
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair and/or maintenance of equipment and vehicles
- Able to operate the equipment listed above, in addition to other commonly used landscaping equipment
- HS Diploma or GED preferred
- Certificate from a recognized vocational school is strongly preferred
