About the Role
ADUSA Distribution is the distribution company of Ahold Delhaize USA, providing distribution services to one of the largest grocery retail supply chains in the nation. The facility handles a mix of product types, including fresh, frozen, grocery, and health and beauty care items, supporting the supply chain network evolution to an integrated self-distribution model.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance tasks and work orders on all assigned facilities and equipment both inside and outside the facility.
- Complete facilities and equipment repairs with variety and complexity based on expected proficiencies.
- Ensure all equipment and facilities operate effectively and efficiently, meeting standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Enter work into the computer maintenance system to track repairs and identify repeat issues.
- Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems.
- Safely shut down systems and equipment while adhering to all standards and codes.
- Troubleshoot and assist other mechanics with systems and equipment.
- Meet evaluation standards on work orders and observations by management.
- Provide guidance and training to Maintenance Support Associates.
- Remain proficient in maintenance trade and stay current with technology through training.
- Recommend modifications to procedures or processes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in accuracy, safety, and productivity.
- Perform work at minimal skill levels in safety, electrical, electronics, refrigeration, material handling, mechanical, welding, fire systems, and domestic water/waste water (where applicable).
- Follow good sanitation practices; keep work area clean and free of debris.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Successful completion of assessment evaluation to demonstrate experience and proficiency in assigned tasks.
- Minimal experience, expertise, and proficiency in one or more of the following areas: Safety, Electrical, Refrigeration, Material Handling, Mechanical, Welding, Fire Systems, Domestic Water/Waste Water.
- Must supply own tools.
Qualifications
- Good communication, verbal, and written skills.
- Dexterity with both hands.
- Knowledge and understanding of schematic/blueprint documents.
- Ability to reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to communicate and complete required record-keeping functions.
- Ability to work needed schedule with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in a -5°F to 90°F+ environment for long periods.
- Ability to perform work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions (e.g., cool temperatures, concrete floors, powered industrial trucks).
- Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn more complex tasks over time.
- Ability to provide guidance and coordination with operation and maintenance staff.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior experience in mechanical areas.
- Certification on powered industrial equipment where applicable.
- Familiarity/experience in a maintenance environment.
